Greystone CDE is helping America to build—and rebuild—by providing financing and financial structuring support to community development projects. Greystone CDE has received two allocations of New Markets Tax Credits from the CDFI Fund at the US Department of the Treasury.

Through the Federal New Markets Tax Credit program Greystone CDE is able to provide vital investment capital for otherwise-difficult-to-finance projects. We have provided capital to commercial real estate projects and businesses as assistance to the rebuilding efforts after Hurricane Katrina in the “GO Zone.”

In addition to the NMTC program, we also provide bridge financing to developers of multifamily housing through our Affordable Housing Bridge Loan program. Financing is available to support every stage of a low income housing project—from pre-development through construction and stabilization—complementing Greystone’s full range of FHA and Fannie Mae affordable housing lending programs.

Richard Heyman

Managing Director of Greystone CDE, LLC, Greystone Renewable Energy Ventures, LLC

As Managing Director, Mr. Heyman has overall responsibility for all the activities and performance of both ventures including marketing, profitability and staff. Mr. Heyman also works in several other areas of Greystone including portfolio management, debt restructuring and management of Greystone’s assets and loan origination. Mr. Heyman has been with Greystone since its inception in 1988 focusing on multifamily housing finance, debt restructuring and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Greystone.

Mr. Heyman is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.

Matt James

Managing Director of Greystone CDE, LLC, Greystone Renewable Energy Ventures, LLC

Matt James developed and is the Managing Director of both Greystone CDE, LLC and Greystone Renewable Energy Ventures, LLC. Mr. James is responsible for all business development, investor relations and deal structuring for both entities. He joined Greystone from Fannie Mae and GMAC Commercial Mortgage where he worked in community development, debt and equity investment and asset backed securitization.

He has a B.A. Degree from The American University and a Masters of International Business Degree from the University of Auckland in Auckland, New Zealand.
